In tribute to internationally acclaimed Israeli actor, Topol, who died today, aged 87. Whilst he was best known for his stage and film portrayal of Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof, to at least some of my generation, he was Dr Hans Zarkov in the 1980 film of Flash Gordon. It was a box office flop when released that later became a cult classic. His obituaries mention his philanthropy. It seems he lived a rich and full life.
