Single digit temperature


During the Southern Hemisphere Winter, some people like to celebrate Christmas in July. This is because that in countries such as Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa, Christmas is celebrated in the height of summer, and the weather is too warm to enjoy a traditional Christmas roast. 

This song, by the German schlager group, Die Flippers, is worthy of being added to your Christmas in July meal background music playlist.

Give your ears a treat


The Christmas song, The Little Drummer Boy, is well known to many audiences around the world. I had no idea that Bob Seger had recorded a version of it back in 1987. That's so 20th century, man. A raspy voiced singer shows that he also has an introspective side.

This is way more catchy than any of the traditional, European Christmas songs. Why has it not caught on? Pondering this question has caused me many a sleepless night.
