The wonderful wireless

If you're looking for an alternative to the entertainment black hole that is Sunday night television, then you may care to listen to the Open House. In Melbourne, it airs from 9 till 11 pm on Light FM. Hosted by broadcaster, speaker, and author Sheridan Voysey, this radio program explores issues of life, faith, and culture from a Christian perspective. It never fails to inform, stimulate, and challenge. I find listening to it a great way of starting my week off on the right foot.

Light FM is, on the whole, an excellent Christian station, one of the best I've heard.

I think their playlist has improved in recent times, though there's still some room for improvement....

But their interviews and early-morning programs are first-rate.

I agree. Some of their song choices have been a bit dubious in the past, but on the whole Light FM has been a great thing for Melbourne. I was overly critical of it when it started, but God is using it to reach and minister to people, which is the whole idea of it. It's one of the stations I listen to regularly, along with Magic 1278, Gold 104, and Vega (breakfast).

If you want to hear an 'interesting' radio program, check out triple j from 9pm at night. It's satirical, but not obviously so, lots of peopel think it's real. It's hard core right wing politics with a hard core fundamental christian perspective. Interesting to see how they portray some things.

Thanks for the comment. That's the program done by Tony Moclair, isn't it? I enjoy a bit of satire, so I must listen to it some time.
