Veteran Australian entertainer Jon English passed away overnight. He was in fine form in his guest appearance in Frontline, a satire of Australian current affairs shows which aired from 1994 to 1997.
He appeared in the season 2 episode, "Let the Children Play," in which he ineptly organises the construction of a playground for some underprivileged inner city children. The episode obviously touched a nerve, because after its broadcast, no current affairs show did a story like this again.
