I wrote the other day bemoaning the inability of journalists to understand religion. On the basis of this article, Greg Sheridan of The Australian is an exception. As the debate about same sex marriage heats up again during the current federal election campaign, it is clear that the churches will be adversely affected by any changes to Australia's marriage laws. Anybody who tries to claim that they will not be affected is either being deliberately dishonest, or naive at best.
