Cravats and bow ties

Back in 1981, some decision makers at RCA and K-Tel decided it was a good idea to release a compilation album of classical musical music, with an added background beat. The result was the Hooked on Classics series.

The first track on the album was also released as a single, which became a hit in several key markets, peaking at number 20 in Australia. It entered 3XY's chart at number 36 in this week in October 1981. The public obviously liked it, even if classical music purists did not.
