Scratches chin quizzically

Normally on a Friday night, at the end of a long week at work, the last thing I want to do is engage my mind in abstract thinking. Nonetheless, that's exactly what I did when I went along to hear American theologian Stanley Hauerwaus, visiting Melbourne for the Wheeler Centre's Faith and Culture lecture series. This report from the Bible Society does a nice job of explaining what he was talking about, because I must admit that I found some of what he said hard to understand. An edited transcript of his address can be found here.

You are right in saying that it was abstract thinking, and also thought-provoking and interesting. Thanks for sharing. Makes me feel like I also went to the event.
